Breathing Exercise Tutorials: Square Breathing

Breathing exercises are a great way to help center yourself. They can relieve anxiety from anywhere and usaully don't require any tools.


One of my favorite breathing techniques is square breathing. All you need is yourself and the ability to count to 4. This is a great techniuqe to do before an exam or interview, on a flight, at home, really any time anxiety comes up in your life.


How to do Square Breathing:

  1. Breathe in for 4 counts.

  2. Hold for 4 counts.

  3. Breathe out for 4 counts.

  4. Hold for 4 counts.

  5. Repeat.
